It was a big, big day. Over 300 people came out Saturday, October 8, to explore freshly minted model homes and be part of the celebration at Kinston’s official grand opening. Kinston’s Big Kickoff – Launch Party and Model Home Tour – was held in and around Kinston Hub, our artful community gathering space and welcome center.
Of course, the real stars of the event were the homes themselves – eight new models by three esteemed builders, Dream Finders Homes, Lennar and Richmond American Homes. Fresh new concepts in modern living that fit right into a place designed around classic concepts of placemaking. Where community means people getting together. Kinston’s Big Kickoff was a pretty great example of that.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the Community Market, featuring gifts and info from the High Plains Environmental Center, Centerra Engagement Association, Mary’s Mountain Cookies, Mountain Man Fruit & Nut, Olive & Herb and the City of Loveland.
Attendees sipped the fresh, artisanal beverages of Mountain Cowboy Brewing Company and savored sliders by The Goodness Truck, corn dogs by Corndoggies and loaded fries by Slawpy Barn food trucks.
The High Plains Environmental Center hosted a fascinating discussion about sustainable plants and native landscaping in The Hub’s Demonstration Garden.
A live DJ from Howe Eventful set the vibe on a sunny Colorado day – perfect for backyard games. Meanwhile, kids were kept entertained with a balloon artist and hands-on fun.
Stay tuned, the Big Kickoff was the first of many festive events coming to Kinston.
