Just down the road from Loveland, Fort Collins is a mainstay on best-places-to-live lists, ranking near the top annually. Along with its four nearest Colorado cities, Fort Collins also ranks as one of the country’s least affordable places to buy a home, according to ongoing study by builderonline.com. Loveland, home of Kinston, Centerra, however, offers something rare: an exceptional quality of life in a place where more people can achieve the dream of home ownership.

Compared to median Front Range home prices north, south, east and southwest of Loveland (which appears on the very same best-places-to-live list) the area is a pocket of attainability. Homes at Kinston, for instance, start in the $400s.

In other words, Loveland, and Kinston especially, is the sweet spot. Where attainability meets quality of life. Residents enjoy direct access to Rocky Mountain National Park and all the hiking, mountain biking, fishing and outdoor pursuits along the way. Loveland is home to some great local restaurants, a thriving arts scene, and a full calendar of fun events. As part of Centerra, Kinston is walkable to even more great restaurants, shopping and events.

Kinston also offers home variety—single-family and townhomes—to meet the needs of a variety of families. And new homes have advantages resale homes don’t. Like the ability to customize floorplans and finishes, full warranties and builder incentives such as interest rate buydowns that significantly increase what the average family can afford. Meanwhile, Greeley, Fort Collins and Boulder are a reasonable commute away, making Kinston a nice alternative to the more expensive markets.

The article also outlines what is driving up home prices. In Boulder, for instance it’s an active outdoor lifestyle, a limited housing supply, a highly educated workforce, high-paying jobs, people relocating for those jobs and the active lifestyle. That is, all the same things offered at Kinston, minus the limited supply and high prices.

It turns out plenty of people agree. Kinston has become Northern Colorado’s favorite place to buy a new home, ranked as the area’s top-selling new home community. You’re invited to come out, learn more about what’s here and what’s planned and take a tour. Model homes are open daily.

We first envisioned Centerra nearly three decades ago. And as the community has grown, so have we. By revitalizing Denver’s iconic Union Station, creating the Dairy Block in LoDo and launching Baseline in Broomfield, we’ve learned a lot. And with the new villages emerging in Centerra, you could say we’re bringing all those lessons home.
