Loveland Outdoor and Fitness Tips for the Fall

Fall in Northern Colorado can be a treat for the senses with its crisp air, crunchy leaves, apple picking, pumpkin carving, and of course, the beautiful fall foliage surrounding the new homes for sale in Loveland. However, with all of these seasonal activities it can be a challenge to find the time to fit a workout into your busy schedule. Although the summer heat has faded away, we’ve found that these outdoor fitness tips for fall can make exercise enjoyable all season long.

Take Advantage of the Weather: Exercising outdoors during the autumn months is ideal because temperatures aren’t too hot or too cold. Take the time to go on a jog after work or take the family on a bike ride after dinner. You may even catch one of Loveland’s spectacular sunsets.

Hit the Trails: Admire the changing leaves in Loveland and grab a friend to explore some local trails such as Devil’s Backbone or the City of Loveland’s Perimeter Trail. Home to dozens of birds and wildlife species, The Lakes at Centerra also offers more than four miles of gorgeous trails onsite that weave throughout the neighborhood, lakes and natural areas. Additionally, a combination of both hard trail and soft surfaces, the High Plains Environmental Center (HPEC) provides interpretive areas to help identify the more than 30 species of birds, butterflies, reptiles, amphibians and mammals that call Centerra home.

Exercise Early in the Day: With the time changing and the sun setting earlier, it can feel as though it’s later in the day than it really is. If you’re used to getting your summer workout in at night, you may find it better to get in a routine of working out early in the day. This will guarantee the workout gets done and still allows time in the afternoons and evenings to relax and hang out with family and friends.

Turn Fall Chores into a Workout: Homeowners know that fall also means an increased amount of outdoor chores. Streamline your workout and turn outdoor chores into exercise to help pass time and burn away fat. For example, you can burn a significant amount of calories by raking leaves, washing windows, replacing weather stripping, cleaning outdoor furniture and more.

Try Something New: Change is in the air and fall is a great time to try something new, especially with the kids back in school. Sign up for that kickboxing class you’ve always wanted to take or maybe join a new gym. The Lakes at Centerra also offers a lap pool for residents to use year round.
