What's New
Fall in Colorado is one of the most special times of year and The Lakes is here to help you find the best ways to spend this festive season. Whether it’s residential or community-wide events, we have a feeling this will be a season full of friends, family, and most importantly, fun!
Check out the changing fall colors:
The most indicative sign that fall is coming can be seen in the changing leaves throughout the trees; luckily, Loveland is home to some of the best leaf-peeping spots in Northern Colorado. One of The Lakes personal favorites is Chapungu Sculpture Park where you can take your family on a stroll through this one-of-a-kind outdoor exhibit filled with over 80 monumental sculptures. The park is surrounded by trees which makes it an optimal site to see the changing colors! A couple of other iconic fall spots around town are the Benson Sculpture Park or see the changing fall colors throughout the Lakes Neighborhood. Take a stroll around Equalizer Lake or spend an evening around the Lake Club fire pit before the chilly weather comes to town. Nearby Rocky Mountain National Park is another great option to catch fall colors.
Celebrate Oktober FallFest with The Lakes:
The Lakes’ Oktober FallFest celebration kicks off again this year for residents to celebrate the fall season and promises to be fun for the whole family! Get ready to party Bavarian-style on October 5th with an evening filled with brats, games and of course a live polka band. What’s Oktoberfest without a little beer? Local Loveland brewery Grimm Brothers will be joining The Lakes this year to serve up some of their delicious craft beer. Find more info in upcoming resident newsletters.
Pick your perfect pumpkin patch in northern Colorado:
The 2019 Pumpkin Patch season is just around the corner, and what better way to spend a fall afternoon than spending time at the pumpkin patch? Loveland is home to the oldest family-owned farm in Colorado, Osborn Farms! The farm offers a barrel train, hayrides, and other fall activities for kids and the whole family. It is officially open for the fall season on September 28th. Residents can stop by High Plains Environmental Center’s Fall Pumpkin Festival on October 19th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to celebrate the Autumn Harvest with food, drinks and activities the whole family will enjoy.
Fall in Colorado activities for the whole family:
Sweetheart City Racing’s annual Harvest Night Family Fun Run is back again October 19 and promises to be a night to remember. This two-mile event is perfect for all ages and is a great way to get outside before the winter season begins! Have some good old-fashioned family fun, complete with food trucks, live music, games and entertainment. It’s an activity fit for the entire family.
Halloween Hullabaloo:
Centerra’s annual Halloween street festival is back this year filled with hands-on activities for all ages! This year’s fall festival kicks off at noon on October 26th and includes pumpkin bowling, a not-so-spooky hay maze, face painting, a petting zoo and more! Dress to impress and take a lap around the Trunk-n-treat at Fall River Drive or participate in the Halloween costume contest from 3-4 p.m. The contest is open to all ages including infants, family pets, adults and children! Simply show up to the Centerra booth before 3 p.m. to register. Learn more on Centerra’s website.
