Online Lecture Series: Ethnobotany
Saturday, October 10, 2020, 9:00am-10:00am MT
Instructor: Jim Tolstrup, HPEC Executive Director
People have lived in Colorado for over 10,000 years. Looking at native plants through the lens of these first people offers us a view of a world that existed before grocery stores and pharmacies; where people found everything they needed in nature.
We will learn about how common native plants were used in ancient times, and how they are used today by Plains Indian tribes for food, ceremony, and medicine.
This program is intended to honor Colorado’s first inhabitants and build connection and relationship with the native community.
This lecture will take place on Zoom. The meeting details will be emailed to attendees 2-3 days prior to the event.
