What's New
Join us on the first Saturday of each month, for a Bird Walk with seasoned birder Sheila Webber, and Bird Banding program with Scott Rashid, Director of the Colorado Avian Research and Rehabilitation Institute.
Whether you’re a seasoned birder or an amateur, join Sheila for a bird walk around Equalizer Lake, and then join Scott, an expert Ornithologist, who will talk to the group about what bird banding is, which birds we may expect to see/band, and why bird banding is vital for collecting data on avian species, in addition to catching and banding live song birds, waterfowl, raptors, and other types of birds at HPEC.
This is an outdoor event and will be held weather permitting. If cancelled due to weather, (snow, rain, or extreme wind/cold) registrants will be notified the day before. Attendees are encouraged to bring binoculars, dress in layers, wear walking shoes, and bring a water bottle.
Registration is required, click here.
This event is for all ages. Under 16 must be accompanied by adult registrant.
