Devil’s Backbone Hike is just a short drive from The Lakes and offers impressive rock formations and picturesque views of Northern Colorado. This moderate 4.3-mile hike features gorgeous wildflowers and opportunities to see local wildlife along the way. The trail is open to the public year-round and is also considered to be a great option for your four-legged pals. Take the whole family out to see what Loveland, Colorado has to offer.
Hit the beach – Lake Loveland Swim Beach, that is! Open each year from Memorial Day to Labor Day, there’s no fee to swim. Whether you just want to dip your toes or you’re ready to jump all the way in, this is a fun way to spend the day.
Less than 33 miles from The Lakes, Estes Park is the staycation you’ve been dreaming of. Get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and take a breath of crisp mountain air from 7,522 feet above sea level. The views are incredible but the adventures you’ll find are even better. Estes Park offers everything from ziplining to shopping to hiking and more, making it a great family-friendly activity. Stay for a day or make a weekend of it and explore everything this charming mountain town has to offer.

This market was voted one of the 10 best Farmers Markets in the state and provides a great opportunity to purchase local produce. The Farmers Market is every Sunday through September 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Benson Sculpture Garden is a sculpture showcase set in a 10-acre park. Home to the renowned Sculpture in the Park event each year, this area is a spot for year-round art appreciation and fun. Over 164 sculptures call the park home, depicting animals, people and more.
Spend the Day in Denver
To many residents surprise, The Lakes at Centerra is less than 45 minutes from the heart of Downtown Denver. Get out and explore the capital of our great state without drifting too far from home. Visit a true local hotspot at Water World. It’s one of America’s largest family water parks and is located just 15 minutes north of downtown Denver. It’s a perfect option for families with kids of all ages.
Step into a different time period at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. It’s known as the Rocky Mountain region’s leading resource for informal science education, and it’s also a whole lot of fun. Learn about space, the human body, gems and minerals and so much more!
The Denver Zoo allows you to take a walk on the wild side. While many animals and exhibits call the zoo home, the Toyota Elephant Passage is a must-see experience. This is one of North America’s largest, most complex elephant habitats spanning ten acres. The Denver Zoo is open year-round with the exceptions of some holidays, you can even score a cost-free visit by planning around one of several free days throughout the year.
