February 2016 events near Loveland, CO

Loveland, Colo. offers a lively community event calendar year round but February marks a special time of year as the town prepares for Valentine’s Day in the Sweetheart City. If you and your family are looking for fun ways to celebrate and spread the Valentine’s cheer in the land of the love, check out our recommendations for upcoming February 2016 events in Loveland.

Stamp Camp and Creation Stations & Valentine Re-Mailing Program

Spend time with your loved ones learning about the history of the Valentine Re-Mailing Program and Stamp Camp (est. 1947) and why people from all over the world have been sending Valentines through the City of Loveland. Activities include stations to explore, including cache stamping, making your own Valentine cards, Miss Loveland Valentine visits, and more. The Loveland Museum/ Gallery is an “Official Valentine Drop Site” from February 1-11.To ensure delivery, send your valentine’s by Feb. 3.

When: Feb. 4, 4 – 6 p.m.

The Lettermen

For the music lovers, head to the Rialto Theater to hear 25 chart-topping singles from The Lettermen including “Put Your Head on My Shoulder,” “When I Fall in Love,” and “Goin’ Out of My Head/ Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.” Cost is $36 per person.

When: Feb. 12, 7 – 10 p.m.

Fire and Ice Festival

Spend Valentine’s Day with your family or loved ones at the Fire and Ice Festival in Loveland. All ages can enjoy live ice sculpting, special lights timed to music, a winter car show, fireworks, live music, family-friendly activities and much more. Twenty four thousand spectators came out last year to celebrate Valentine’s weekend, so get there early!

When: Feb. 12-14, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Where: Downtown Loveland along 4th Street and Railroad

Loveland Valentine Hearts Program

Be a part of the city’s tradition to line the streets of Loveland with your own personalized wooden heart. In 25 letters or fewer, you and your family can choose what your heart says. Each heart costs $50, and proceeds of the sales go to help children locally and abroad through the Thompson Valley Rotary Club.
