Public Transportation Options in Northern Colorado

As the population in northern Colorado grows with increasing Ft. Collins new homesand Loveland homes for sale, public transportation options also continue to evolve and expand. If you’re exploring what it would be like to live at The Lakes at Centerra, consider these convenient public transportation options for getting around Loveland, as well as the greater northern Colorado region.

Set Your Bearings. Loveland is conveniently located directly off of the interstate (I-25) at exit 257. Highway 34 runs through the center of Loveland from east to west, and Highway 287 runs through the city from north to south. Downtown Loveland is centered at 4th Street and Cleveland/Lincoln.

Getting to Loveland. Denver International Airport (DIA) is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Loveland, and is the most common way of getting to town for out-of-state travelers. DIA provides ground transportation through Super Shuttle, and other local services like Green Ride Colorado can be helpful resources for catching a ride from the airport to Loveland. Some shuttle services also offer door-to-door service. Travelers can also select from a variety of car rental agencies at DIA and local Loveland rental options are also available thru Enterprise.

The Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport is another convenient option for shorter distances or private air travel. While no commercial airlines currently fly into Loveland, the airport does periodically get small flights.

In addition, the Bustang is a new interregional Express Bus service run by the Colorado Department of Transportation, set to launch in Spring 2015. The Bustang is designed to connect commuters to Denver along the I-25 corridor, including stopping at the I-25/US 34 Loveland-Greeley Park-and-Ride. The bus will offer amenities like WiFi availability, bathrooms, bike racks and charging stations, making it a comfortable ride for traveling from Denver to Loveland.

Traveling Around Town. Once in northern Colorado, the FLEX Northern Colorado Bus Route serves stops connecting Fort Collins, Loveland, Berthoud and Longmont. The FLEX routes are perfect for people staying in Loveland who also want to explore some of the neighboring towns.
