Let The Lakes’ Manager of Community Engagement, Lisa Powell, be your guide to summer fun in Loveland!

Meet Lisa Powell, Manager of Community Engagement at The Lakes at Centerra

Longtime Loveland resident Lisa Powell is more than just a friendly face. As the Manager of Community Engagement, Lisa creates community events, manages ambassadors who are on-hand to help residents enjoy amenities, and serves as a hub of information for all those who come by The Lake Club in search of a new home in Loveland. Lisa enjoys meeting residents throughout the community, as well as strengthening overall neighborhood relationships. “Warm weather brings life outdoors at The Lakes. I’m thrilled to get to know the amazing people that call The Lakes home and understand what they’re looking for in their community. Our team is so excited to join residents for fun in the sun through all the great events we have scheduled this summer!”

Summer Activities Spell FUN at The Lakes at Centerra

Make a splash at The Lakes community pool. With plenty of parking for cars and bikes, an afternoon at the pool is a chance to spend time outside and cool off from those rising temperatures. Pack up a wagon and make a day of it; pool hours are from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

  • The Lakes community pool also offers outdoor grills, so residents can enjoy a picturesque cookout with friends or a poolside snack. The pool is the perfect warm-weather gathering space and is a great option for kids of all ages, however, please keep in mind that children younger than 12-years-old must be accompanied by an adult at all times as there is no lifeguard on duty.
  • Tuesdays are even cooler with the return of Snow Cone Tuesdays! Every Tuesday throughout the summer, enjoy free snow cones at the pool between 1 and 3 p.m.

Celebrate your passions or discover new interests with neighbors and friends at one of The Lakes’ clubs!

  • Quilt Club: Calling all quilters! Looking for quilting inspiration and camaraderie close to home? New members and all skill levels are welcome.
  • Vino Club: Whether you’re an expert or just learning about wine, join neighbors for Vino Night. The idea is to have a fun, social gathering where you can learn a little bit more about wine while getting to know others who live in our community in the process.
  • Game Club: Join your neighbors for card games and board games. All are welcome. Feel free to bring a snack to share.
  • Can’t find the right club for you? Reach out to Lisa to create your own.

Take a breath of fresh air every Saturday morning at Nature Meditation, offered by the team at High Plains Environmental Center. Residents are invited to relax and unwind at this seated meditation, held outside in The Lakes’ natural areas. Begin with a group meditation walk through the community trails, followed by a 45-minute seated meditation. Bring a towel or yoga mat, as well as anything else that will make your experience more comfortable.

Soak in beautiful weather and open-air music at Sounds of Centerra, a favorite community event. This annual concert series returns to Chapungu Sculpture Park on Friday nights at 7 p.m. through August 2. Grab your group and bring some chairs; early arrivals will receive free popcorn (provided by Thompson Valley High School Band Boosters while supplies last). See the lineup below:

  • July 12 – Zimbria – Afro-fusion, Afro-pop
  • July 19 – Soul School – Funk, R&B, Soul
  • July 26 – The 6 Million Dollar Band – 80’s covers

Beat summer boredom at The Environmental Center’s Wild Zone. Here, kids can let their imaginations run wild as they make their way through the Willow Tunnel to discover the Nest Tree, the Toad’s Tea Party, Rock Mountain and many other wonders. The Wild Zone is a fun thing to do with kids and is a great place to learn lessons about nature while embracing independence and self-expression.

Mark your calendars; on August 2 we’re bringing the concert to you! The Lake Club will host the Dog Days of Summer outdoor concert. Stay tuned for more details in your resident newsletter, we hope to see you there!

Want to plan your own event? The Lakes makes summer gatherings simple! Residents can rent The Lake Club, both indoor and outdoor, and the pergola at The Lakes’ community pool for private events. It just got easier to enjoy these amenities with your family and friends with the online facility reservation system.
